Dietitians and nutritionists work in hospitals, cafeterias, nursing homes, and schools. Some dietitians and nutritionists are self-employed and maintain their own practice. They work as consultants, providing advice to individual clients, or they work for healthcare establishments on a contract basis. Most dietitians and nutritionists work full time, although about 20 percent work part time. Self-employed, consultant dietitians have more flexibility in setting their schedules.

so organizational skills are an important quality. Nutrition also involves starting and completing projects
such as diet programs for clients. Practitioners must keep careful records
stay on top of routine administrative tasks and manage their time. •People Skills- Nutrition is a people-oriented business
so practitioners must enjoy working with diverse people. They must be good listeners who pay attention to clients’ goals and concerns. •Communications- The ability to communicate clearly in writing and speaking is a necessary quality. Nutritionists work with scientific information
and they must be able to turn complicated details into language clients can understand. •Technical- Technical know-how is a quality nutritionist’s need. They work with tools and equipment including calorimeters to gauge metabolism
glucose meters to evaluate blood sugar and bio-electric impedance machines to electronically measure body fat.
Minimum Qualification- Opt for a college offering home science after 10th or after 12th Science (with biology/microbiology).
