To Mark International Women’s Day 2018
The 14th edition of the festival will show case the work of women filmmakers of Asian origin, living anywhere in the world. The festival brings together a collection of 74 films from 21 countries, a curated section on animated films and a curated section on students’ films and experimental films that cut across genres and have narratives that can reshape the way we imagine cinema to be. The festival includes a camera and sound workshop Camera, Sound and Action, three interactive sessions with renowned filmmakers, in Filmy Addas; and two seminars – Weaving Peace – A Woman’s Perspective which will highlight women’s transformative role in peace building by sharing their own experiences as well as of others across the world; and Voice Studio to understand the many voices of protest which have emerged, from amongst the youth in India
Organised in collaboration with International Association of Women in Radio &Television, India Chapter; Goethe Institute/Max Mueller Bhavan; Embassy of Israel; The Japan Foundation; Korean Cultural Centre, New Delhi; Action Aid; WISCOMP; Cinestaan; and with the support of ONGC
Screenings will be held in the Auditorium on 5, 6 and 7 March 2018 from 09:00 AM onwards. Filmmakers from India, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Myanmar and Bangladesh will be present to join in post-screening discussions.
