Bhuvneshwar Kumar -- Reaping Rewards for Indian Cricketers

South Africa went down by 28 runs in the first T20 in Johannesburg after they once again landed the second best to India in a limited overs game. The defeat was continuous format process after ODI's led to South Africa lose by 1-5. Despite of Reeza Hendricks' resistance during the Sunday match, South Africa could not push itself to the winning line. A lot of credit can be given to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. According to Hendricks, Bhuvaneshwar was so consistent in his plans that he pretty much gave nothing to score off except for ones and twos.

India scored a total of 203 runs and South Africa, on the contrary just made it to 175/9 with Bhuvneshwar's lodging figures of 5/24. India's power play was much better than that of South Africa which might be the reason of their win. The difference between the two teams after the powerplay overs was India 78/2 and South Africa 41/2. South Africa did receive some opportunities while batting but Hendricks confessed to the strong bowling of India that contained the score between the boundaries. Hendricks also mentioned that they had to play according to the situation as India was bowling on a very tight line. When you are the opening batsman, you try to get off a good start, capitalise in the first six before trying to go as deep as possible, he further added.
