Kripa Shankar Bishnoi Asked Necessary Changes to the UWW

Former Indian coach Kripa Shankar Bishnoi has suggested few necessary changes to the United World Wrestling (UWW). The suggested changes are requested in all weight categories.As per the reports, the UWW will discuss the proposed changes with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in this regard, during the Senior World Wrestling Championship.The Senior World Wrestling Championship is scheduled to be held in Paris from August 20 to 27.Additionally, the global governing body of the sport is also predicted to take a decision on increasing existing eight weight categories to 10 in all UWW competitions.

The category also included the world and continental championships, World Cup and Golden Grand Prix events.Through the meeting, the UWW Bureau members will vote on new categories for senior and cadet level wrestlers.Once accepted, the new weight calories will be applied from January 1, 2018.According to UWW, the changes will take place in the weight categories of wrestling rules for men, women and Greco-Roman weight categories.As per the suggested rules, the 57kg, 65kg, 74kg, 86kg, 97kg and 125kg freestyle categories may be changed to 60kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg, 100kg and 130kg.
