Manpreet Singh is named as the Indian hockey captain

PR Sreejesh is out of the tournament because of a knee fracture which has brought new opportunities to halfback Manpreet Singh. The Indian Hokey federation has announced that Manpreet Singh will be leading the Indian Hockey Team.

Singh will be responsible as a team leader for the next month's 3 Nations Invitational Tournament in Germany and the World League Semi-Final in England, decided by the officials.

The 3 Nations Invitational Tournament will be played in Dusseldorf, Germany from June 1 followed by the Hockey World League Semi-Final in London starting June 15.

The 18-members’ team will play two matches each against hosts Germany and Belgium before arriving in London for the Hockey World League Semi Final. As per the officials, Team India will be grouped with Canada, Netherlands, Pakistan and Scotland in Pool B during the tournament.

As per the Reports, the Indian team includes Manpreet, with Chinglensana Singh Kangujam, Pardeep Mor, Kothajit Singh, Surender Kumar, Rupinder Pal Singh and Harmanpreet Singh.
