Scotland, Cricket and Sachin Tendulkar.

Cricket is relatively low profile in Scotland than its neighbors England. Scotland does not fare in the 12 leading nations that play Test Cricket. Scotland failed to qualify for the 2019 World Cup after ICC decided to limit the tournament to just 10 teams. However, they astounded everyone with their record victory over England on Sunday by six runs. Scotland, who also happen to be the host won by six runs. Former Durham batsman Calum MacLeod scored 140 not out from 94 balls at Grange Cricket Club. The host team had lost the toss and posting a massive 371-5; the players of Scotland held to their nerves in the field and went on to clinch a thrilling one-day international with just seven balls remaining. It was just astounding to see top ranked England getting all out for 365 in 48.5 overs.

Their victory was much applauded by none other than Sachin Tendulkar who went ahead and expressed his wish to see the winning team play against top sides and prove their mettle. Sachin also went to say that Cricket has all the qualities to be a Global game.  He mentioned teams like Afghanistan, Ireland, Scotland and many other who have great potential should be provided with more opportunities to play against the more established and experienced team.
