Sultan Azlan Shah Cup: India Defeated New Zealand

India hockey team has won a bronze medal in the hockey tournament, Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. The team India has defeated New Zealand 4-0 to clinch the bronze medal. The Sultan Azlan Shah Cup an annual international men's field hockey tournament held was recently held in Malaysia.

Rupinderpal Singh was the champion as he transformed the match and converted two penalty corners in the match that set up the win. Additionally, Rupinderpal sent equal ground drag-flicks into the corner past New Zealand goalkeeper Richard Joyce's extensive right hand in the 17th and 27th minutes.

Besides Rupinderpal Singh, SV Sunil scored his first goal of the tournament in the 48th minute. Sun played a vital role in the tournament as he capitalized on a cross from Mandeep Singh into the goalmouth, while Talwinder Singh rounded off India's scoring in the last minute.

Previously, Malaysia had beaten Japan 3-1 in the playoff to decide the fifth place in the tournament standings.
