TOTTENHAM REMAIN FOUR POINTS BEHIND LEADING CHELSEA
Editorials News | May-11-2017
Manuel Lanzini scored the only goal for West Ham United in the last Football Premier League match, which shattered the title bid of Tottenham. Tottenham has reaped the fruit of its lethargic display at the London Stadium.
Now Tottenham has been placed second behind the leading Chelsea by only four points. If Chelsea beats Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge in the next match, they can stretch the advantage to seven.
With Manuel Lanzini’s goal, the West Ham forward made a 1-0 win, placing Chelsea just inches away from being the champions. This was a wonderful moment for West Ham, which had a problematic first year at their new stadium.
Chelsea needs just 6 points from its previous four matches to secure the title in the first season which has been in charge of Antonio Conte. However, Conte didn’t get to watch the fate of Tottenham as he had gone out with his wife and daughter for a dinner.
If Chelsea makes it in the next match, Tottenham will never play again. Mauricio Pochettino said "It's disappointing. It's not over, but now we have to wait. It's true it will be difficult to catch Chelsea.”
