Afghanistan’s Cricket Sensation: Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Mujeeb Ur Rahman, also known as Mujeeb Zadran, is an Afghan cricketer, who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. He is truly an asset for the Afghanistan cricket team. He was lucky enough to have a cricket background. Mujeeb was born on March 28, 2001. He is presently 17 years old and at this tender age he has already created ripples in the field of cricket. The entire credit for this goes to the strong cricket culture in his family. He is the nephew of Noor Ali Zadran, who played in Afghanistan’s debut ODI against Scotland in 2009. He grew up in the nursery built by his uncle at his home in Kabul. The academy has produced many first-class cricketers. One of the major barrier for him is the language. He neither speaks english nor hindi but only Pashto. Mujeeb Ur Rahman has made a fruitful debut in the IPL season with King XI Punjab which will definitely bring him lucrative contracts from T20 leagues across the world. When someone commented upon his language barrier, he proudly replied that “Cricket is my language”, I depend upon my cricketing knowledge. I completely understand what is being taught to me. Mujeeb’s formative years coincided with many innovations which have come to change the way the game is played. Mujeeb puts on a wry smile on his face when asked about how he broke through the defence of Virat Kohli during the IPL. He stated that he observed his footwork very intricately, drew him forward and exposed the gap.
