The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is known for the music, celebrity snapshots, and art installations. It is the largest renowned music festival in the U.S. and Canada in terms of the crowd it generates.
Top artists including the pop icon Lady Gaga, the movie composer Hans Zimmer, and the rapper Kendrick Lamar made the event big. Lady Gaga’s performance on the periphery of the art collection was a highlight.
Tall, boxy animal shapes looking like piñatas with party hats roamed over a part of the festival grounds, while another had a metal frame fixed with 2,120 concave and convex mirrors- one of the popular selfie sites.
The “Crown Ether”, a colorful tree-house village; “The Lamp Beside the Golden Door”, a entry gate where you are scrutinized just like an immigrant entering America; the Chiaozza Garden, an art installation with 31 towering colorful stucco gourd-shaped plants; and many more were the festival’s attractions.
This year, the festival worked with the artists to develop the art pieces, unlike last year where some political statements were made. The art displayed this year was more confectionery and whimsical, and provided for a great Coachella experience.
