Khalid Boulahrouz, the former Chelsea and Netherlands national football team defender, has said that he is interested in playing in India.
Currently, Boulahrouz is in Indonesia, where he is a guest coach coaching the women’s team of the Indonesian Liga 2 side Persijap Jepara.
It was there that he contacted Oranje Indonesia, the Indonesian Dutch team supporters, while he spoke to the national press in Jakarta.
The 35 year-old who had retired in February 2016 from his position of a professional player, revealed that he is looking for the next playing career opportunity in Asia or India. He stated "I will never stop [playing], because I'm always searching for new challenges. It could be in here Indonesia, China, India, or even Japan".
Nicknamed as the Cannibal, Boulahrouz, started his career with AZ Alkamaar in the Netherlands before playing for clubs like Chelsea, Hamburg, Sporting Club de Portugal, VfB Stuggart, and Feyenoord Rotterdam.
This eminent player had won the English League Cup and the Football Association Challenge Cup during his session with the Roman Abramovich-owned team in the EPL (English Premier League). He also holds the pride of being the 2010 World Cup finalist.
