  1. Swimming fights fatigue: Swimming engages all the muscles and increases body's tendency for inhaling oxygen and improves energy use in the body. There is research that proves that swimming boosts maximum oxygen capacity of the person regardless of their previous levels of fitness.
  2. Swimming improves cardiovascular health: There is a direct connection between maximum oxygen capacity of the body and cardiovascular health. As the former increases, the lungs and heart becomes stronger. This leads to major improvement in heart health.
  3. Swimming aids in mental health: Swimming helps in connecting with the community and relieves symptoms of anxiety, depression etc. There is a visible improvement in mood and outlook of people who swim.
  4. Swimming is preventive for chronic illness: Physical activity in general can lead to massive improvements in immunity to prevent against any chronic, noncommunicable diseases. This is probably because swimming targets the oxidative stress and biomarkers associated with diseases.
