Winning World Cup Will Bring Revolution in Indian Women’s Cricket

The Women’s Cricket World Cup is going to start from June 24th, 2017 in England. The second highest run scorer in Women’s International Cricket and the captain of Indian Women’s team – Mithali Raj spoke about what winning means to her.

The team’s departure press conference was held in Mumbai where Mithali said "We want to win the World Cup because it would be a revolution kind of a thing for Indian women's cricket.” She also added that winning trophy will motivate young girls to participate in this sport.  The team has only three quick bowlers - Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey and Mansi Joshi. Mithali said that the girls have done well in last two series.

Raj told media that senior players are already aware about the pressures and expectations one faces during World Cup. The seniors are always there for the juniors who are going to play for the first time in the World Cup.
