Art- Cash on the Wall

Art is considered as a strong way of communicating many ideas. An artist is always engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. The purpose of art may be to create a sense of beauty and to explore the nature of perception to generate strong emotions.

The term art has many forms like, music, dance, drama, folk art, creative writing, architecture, painting, sculpture, photography and more. Kerry James Marshall has mentioned that he is no more interested in working to make public art. Chicago Tribune claims that Kerry said “There would be no reason to do public works, especially public works that could be moved, because at any opportunity that work could be seen as nothing but cash on the wall.” The Robert Indiana Foundation has decided to sell the art work of Ed Ruscha and Ellsworth Kelly this month at Christie’s in order to pay for its legal fees and maintain the artist’s mansion in Maine. It is estimated that a profit of $4 million will be earned by this. The mystery of Folks was all about Kanye West at the Modern Art Museum Fort Worth in Texas last weekend. Joshua Rivkin’s new CY Twombly biography grapples with the mysteries of the artist and his life by refusing to solve them—which, according to a New York Times review, is occasionally the book’s undoing. The Times mentioned that “The flaw of the book becomes its fetish.” Martha Rolser, the artist, got the profile treatment with her Jewish Museum survey having just opened in New York. Whereby, Sadaharu Horio, one of the few living members of the Japanese avant-garde Gutai, has died at the age of seventy nine. The Museum of Arts and Design in New York revealed Cannupa Hanska Luger as the winner of its inaugural Burke Prize for craft, with $50,000. Agence Christiane Schmuckle-Mollard has won the 2018 WMF/Knoll Modernism Prize for its preservation of the Karl Marx School in Villejuif, France. Warner Brothers has forced the R. W. Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport, Louisiana, to cancel a Harry Potter–themed dinner, alleging that hosting the event would have been copyright infringement. Curator Mindy Besaw is going to discuss on some of the exhibition’s standout pieces for the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in the Bentonville, Arkansas, for its survey of the contemporary indigenous art.
