CBSE Announces Few Changes In Exam Pattern Of Class X And XII

Some new changes will be made in the exam pattern of class 10 and 12 examinations by the year 2020, says CBSE. The decision was made so as to refine the analytical abilities of the students. The changes come forward so as to move forward from the concept of rote learning. The current trend of conducting vocational subject exams and announcing the results earlier will be modified too.

The questions would include more problem-solving, said a senior minister from HRD. The paper is going to include more short questions ranging from 1 to 5 marks each. More stress would be given to enhance the critical thinking of students rather than motivating them to just score higher by the help of rote learning.

CBSE has framed new bylaws and submitted them to the HRD so as to improve the education quality in an institution. HRD is responsible for quality of education at the time of affiliation or renewal of schools. This new laws might help simplify this process. These proposals might take another 3-4 months to come into action.

The board is already working to change the question pattern by the year 2020. In the meantime, CBSE affiliated schools are devoting time towards physical education too. Apparently they have been letting go of subjects like General Knowledge and Moral Science to attain the required results.
