CBSE New Initiative - Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) Programme

Education is extremely important for the all round development of an individual. The government of India keeps making efforts for it from time to time. One of the latest initiatives of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in this regard is the introduction of the vigyan programme.

Vigyan Prasar, is a national institute for science and technology communication. It was established under the Department of Science and Technology in association with the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) and Vijnana Bharati. It is conducting this programme for the students of classes VI to XII. The CBSE has approached the schools to enroll for this Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) programme. The motive of taking this initiative is to popularize science among the students. This shall help in enhancing the students’ interest in the science stream. The program aims at developing the interest of students in general and pure science. As we all know that India is heading towards better and technologically more advanced areas, consequently there is need for scholars and masters in this field. This is highly essential for taking India forward technologically. Be it the space rockets, latest cars, pollution free equipments, everything around us involves science to a great extent. The students are supposed to register for this programme. Registered students will have to take up a multi-level test. An evaluation will be done and successful students will get a chance to undertake study tours and interactions with renowned scientists of our country. This way student will be able to explore their interests to a great extent in the field of science.
