Covid-19 Pandemic- Loss of Smell and Taste Can Be the Symptom

If you ever feel the symptoms of coronavirus, then do not visit the hospital. You should call your doctor if you have exposed to the coronavirus.

These symptoms will appear after 2-14 days of being exposed to deadly virus.

Day 1-3

• Fever
• Sore throat

Day 4

•Diarrhea, stomach flue

Day 5

• Tiredness

• Dried Cough
• Shortness of breath

• Runny nose

• Body Pain

Day 6
• Trouble in breathing

Day7

• Fever with 37-38 degrees Celsius, cough, vomit

The symptoms can range from mild to severe.
And emergencies like:

• Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
• New confusion or inability to arouse
• Bluish lips or face

Other than this US Experts had suggested that for people who lose their ability to smell and taste, even if they have no other symptoms, they should keep themselves in isolation and recommend testing. The loss of smell known as ‘anosmia or hyposmia’ could indicate ‘hidden carriers’ of Covid-19.
There are few cases in the US, France, and Northern Italy, Iran, South Korea, where people have only the symptom of loss of smell and neither the fever nor the cough.
In young patients, they do not have significant symptoms. The virus has lodged in their nose, due to which there smelling and tasting have been reduced and other symptoms didn’t appear.
People may be at higher risk of serious illness, who have already chronic medical conditions such as heart or lung disease or diabetes.

Call your doctor immediately, if you feel any of the symptoms, especially if you have a travel history. Tell the doctor about all the symptoms clearly, with the detailed exposure of Covid-19 due to the travel history or some other reason.
Complications can be included such as pneumonia in both lungs, organ failure in several organs and even death.
Therefore all the preventions which are suggested by the WHO should be taken seriously.

The deadly virus has claimed 7 deaths in India and 360 people are tested positive. Globally the virus has claimed 14,641 and 335,000 people have contracted the novel coronavirus.
