Enjoy Your Vacations This Year With Ooty Summer Festival

The Nilgiri are not only famous for their natural scenic beauty, but also for their annual Ooty summer festival. It is an exquisite event organized with the aim of presenting the natural generosity of Ooty to travelers from all over the world.

If you wanted to take a trip to the south, now is the time to do it. With shows such as the flower show, the fruit show, the rose show and the vegetable show, this year the festival will mark its 123rd edition. Among all of them, the flower show is the most exotic and will take place in the Botanical Garden of Ooty from May 17 to 21. The fruit show will take place at Sim's Park in Coonoor from May 25-26. the day the festival began (May 4) where a variety of special spices and different spice plantings were exhibited.

Organized by the Department of Tourism of Tamil Nadu and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of India, the various shows and exhibitions began on May 4 and will continue until May 27. From dance, music to flowers and fruits, the summer festival highlights everything that defines Ooty's lifestyle and culture. These are the ones that must be watched.

Display of flowers

The highlights of this show are the flower sculptures, the authentic floral crafts and modern art, with the aim of encouraging young and future artists. The Botanical Garden where the show takes place looks like a paradise on Earth, thanks to the colorful and vibrant atmosphere. Apparently, more than 15,000 pots of different varieties are added to the garden during the show.

Fruit show

As its name suggests, all kinds of fruits meet under one roof, expressing art through them. This event is organized by the Department of Horticulture and is relatively a more recent addition to the summer festival.

Show of roses

Each year, held at the Rose Garden in Ooty, around 30,000 rose plants are exhibited in about 4,000 varieties. From towers made of thousands of roses to rangolis made with rose petals, this event is truly a marvel.
