The wildlife management at Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River stated that the sea lion and their predation on salmon have amazed them. However this is the fact the sea lions majorly depend on the fish.
Additionally the management has also provided a special protection for these marine sea lions, gathered on Columbia River during spring. On the other hand, the salmon which they commonly use for their feast are protected by the Endangered Species Act. With the help of the epidemiological models the scientists have examined how the behavior of eating salmon at the dam spread among sea lions.
