Nebraska Basketball Makes Late Additions To Their Team

Nebraska Basketball added help to their listings on Thursday as Dedoch Chan, Mississippi Gulf Coast CC forward committed to be in the Huskers. Chan with 6 8 height and 215 pound weight started playing basketball during his high school at Rochester, Minnesota. He graduated from high school in 2017 before going in the junior college route. Chan had a pretty successful freshman year at the Mississippi Gulf Coast last season where he averaged 8.6 rebounds and 17 points per game. He will have three seasons of eligibility with the Big Red after the move. He is also a two-time Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges Player of the Week.

He is expected to perform and contribute immediately. Nebraska is suddenly thin after Jordy Tshimanga left the post. Nebraska Coach Tim Miles is quite excited to add a player as productive as Dedoch to their team. Tshimanga decided to transfer and ended up at Dayton. This left Isaiah Roby and Tanner Borchardt as the primary players of Huskers. With addition of Chan, Huskers will have more front-court versatility and depth.

Chan played for Kirk Thompson in his final two high school seasons. As a senior, he was successful in garnering All-Big Nine Conference honors that averaged at 16 points per game and 54 percent shooting. He will come back to Lincoln for the start of his classes in a few weeks.
