Odd Even Back After Diwali!

We all are aware of the alarming situation that is prevailing in our country. The capital of our country, Delhi is facing severe pollution issues, to counter the problem, Delhi government has taken various steps one of which is Odd even rule. According to the odd-even rules, vehicle registrations which end with odd digits like 1, 3, 5 and 7 will not be allowed to move on the roads on dates like 4, 6 and 8 and so on. Similarly, the vehicles with registration numbers with end of an even digit - 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 will not be allowed on the roads on dates of month like 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15.
For those who will violate the rules will be asked for paying a penalty of Rs. 4,000, that is double the amount which is charged in the earlier editions of the odd-even scheme.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal carpooled to work along with two of his cabinet colleagues. Delhi turned into a gas chamber due to smoke coming from neighbouring states. However, the people of Delhi took various steps to reduce pollution. We did what we could, said Mr Kejriwal in an interview.
The scheme will range till November 15 and is most likely to be extended if the pollution level continues to remain in the severe category.
The Delhi government on recent Friday directed the closure of schools for 5 days, construction activities after the Supreme Court-mandated all Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority which declared a public health emergency as air quality plummeted.
Two-wheelers and electric vehicles have currently been exempted from the restrictions, but not those running on Compressed Natural Gas or CNG.
Around 200 no. of teams of traffic police have been deployed to ensure the compliance and around 5,000 civil defence volunteers have been trained to spread awareness. Cab aggregators such as Uber and Ola were also asked for not imposing surge pricing for the duration of the odd-even scheme.
