Teachers play a very important and crucial role in the lives of the students. The job of a teacher is indeed not and an easy one. A teacher has to prepare herself/ himself before presenting the lesson to the students in the classroom. Also, a teacher needs to be updated with the modern teaching techniques so as to impart knowledge to the students in the best possible ways.  Some of the best teaching theories that a teacher must know are as follows:

1. Instructivism

The theory of instruction is of immense importance in a classroom. A teacher must be able to provide clear and precise instructions to the students because students learn and understand from the instruction of the teacher to a large extent.

2. Multiple Intelligences

There are various different ways of learning and processing information, but these methods are relatively independent of one another: leading multiple intelligences as opposed to a (single) ‘general intelligence) factor among correlated abilities.

3. Experiential Learning

A teacher must know the importance of experimentation. He/ she should be able to explain the significance of experimentation to the students largely.

4. Learning Styles

A teacher must not stick to one particular teaching style. She/ He should be flexible while teaching. The teacher should adopt different learning styles as and when required depending upon the need and the understanding of the students. The learning style may also depend upon the class grade to whom the teacher is teaching.

5.  Homeschooling

Homeschooling: is usually referred to as schooling that is carried on at home. This may be of different kinds such as project-based learning in authentic and self-actuated and organized learning environments, to complete ‘unschooling.’

6. Scientific Pedagogy

It refers to a kind of education that is dependent upon the science that modifies and improves the individual largely.

7. Experiential Education

Teaching by the way of experimenting with the environment and the content around is largely beneficial for the students.

8. Constructionism

It is important for the student to actively indulge in the learning process. A student must build on his/ her existing knowledge while trying to acquire new knowledge.

9. Project-Based Learning

A teacher must emphasize the importance of project based learning to the students. The students must be provided with project work from time to time. It helps in improving their skills and imbibes practical knowledge in them.

10. Scaffolding

It refers to a support that is given during the learning process to the student and which helps the student in achieving his/ her goals.
