It was in 2014 when midfielder Mohammed Rafique handed the title to Atletico de Kolkata during the opening of Indian Super League. 2016 has become the much awaited year where the two teams again faced each other for the title. This is the second time when Rafique scored in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time. With the current triumph, Rafique has become a strong face for Kerala Blaster.
Rafique, Kerala Blasters player, has won million of hearts and already played his part in his side's journey to the final. Moreover, Rafique scored the winning spot kick in the penalty shootout during the club's semifinal and won over Delhi Dynamos.
The coach of Kerala Blaster, Steve Coppell, stated while referring to Rafique that it's been two years ago and we have only a couple of players who were part of that match. Coach Coppell Also added that they have one player who scored the winning goal during last tournament.
