Jordan Sta. Ana, one of the few bright spots in University of Santo Tomas' (UST) miserable UAAP campaign in Season 80, announced on May 21, 2018, Monday, that he is set to leave the Growling Tigers. He ended his two-year stint with the Growling Tigers. He announced his departure through a tweet wherein he thanked his coaches, his co- players and everyone. He stated that he is hopeful that God has better plans for him. The news was confirmed by the head coach Aldin Ayo. Sta. Ana averaged 11.1 points last year for the Growling Tigers in UAAP Season 80, the third best for a team that won only one in 14 games under Boy Sablan. He also posted 2.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists in his only UAAP season with the Tigers. The 20-year-old guard played for one season with University of the East before moving to Esplana. Sta. Ana played high school ball with National University.
