The venue for the India vs Uzbekistan Asia Oceania Zone group I Davis Cup tie  which is to be conducted during 7th to 9th of April 2017 has been chosen by the All India Tennis Association (AITA). It is the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) in Bengaluru.

Earlier this month, India had triumphed over New Zealand 4-1 in Pune in the first round. And, Uzbekistan won over Korea 3-1 in the away first round tie. The two countries are now locked 2-2. In April 2013, India and Uzbekistan clashed, and the latter won 3-2.

Hironmoy Chatterjee, the Secretary General of the AITA said "We are pleased to confirm Bengaluru as the venue for the Davis Cup tie between India and Uzbekistan. We are sure that Bengaluru will embrace this event and witness some high quality tennis."

Mahesh Bhupathi, the new non-playing captain of the Indian Davis Cup team, stated that he is confident that the KSLTA’s surface and Bangalore’s conditions will give the Indian team a complementary edge over Uzbekistan.

The winner of the tie will proceed to play in the World Group Play-off which will be conducted in September.
