Radiology is a science which uses medical procedures of imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the body. A variety of techniques such as X-ray radiography, ultrasound, computed tomography, nuclear medicine etc. are used to diagnose and/or treat diseases.

Working Conditions

Radiology is a 24-hour department. The staff does an amplitude of patient teaching and expertly explains procedures to them. Patients are curious about impending procedures so they often need detailed information and reassurance. Exposure to radiation is a prime risk for the staff. The staff must follow the rules for protecting themselves, their patients and their peers from harmful radiation exposure. All staff members wear dosimeters, a badge which measures radiation levels. A lifetime exposure record is maintained by everyone.
