“Better Earth, Better Life, Better Tomorrow!
To commemorate Earth Day, school had organised an array of online competitions and involve students and parents in making a difference towards a healthy, prosperous and sustainable future.

Competitions saw huge and enthusiastic participation of our bal bhavanites which promote environmental education by their poems, posters, songs and declamations. An effort to instill leadership role among the young enthusiasts to solve environmental concerns was also aimed at by the mentors. Here we are sharing the results of online competitions (Level wise).

It was a proud moment for all the Bal Bhavanites and the school to witness the inauguration ceremony of the innovative and hi-tech Atal Tinkering Laboratory on Tuesday 14 January 2020. It is an approach of the central government of India to create an environment of scientific temperament, innovation, and creativity amongst Indian students. It will teach students essential 21st-century skills which will help them in developing their professional as well as personal skills.

The lab was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Gopal Kumar Jha, the senior research scientist at The National Institute of Solar Energy. In his speech, the chief guest congratulated the school and mentioned that “The school is truly making all sincere efforts to create innovators for a skilled India. All students from Class VI-XII will take benefit from the lab. The lab is designed to inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning and so on, to be in sync with the global scenario. This will surely support young talent to shape their curiosity, creativity, adaptive learning, and physical computing to understand the basic concept of STEM along with the hands-on experiments with the help of various tools and equipment required.”

A presentation was showcased by Yash Joshi, a student of class XI-B, to highlight the aims and objectives of the Atal Tinkering Lab. The Students of class IX presented a short enactment to further enlighten the gathering about the ATL lab. The chief guest and all the dignitaries cut the ceremonial ribbon to formally inaugurate the lab. 
The young innovators of the school presented their innovative models such as Smart blind stick, model on smart parking, fingerprint door-lock and so on. The chief guest appreciated the students’ efforts and guided them for further improvisation. The school principal motivated the students and said that “The students will surely make the best use of every hands-on-experience in the ATL as the students are the resource persons of this lab where they can discover themselves, innovate, execute their new ideas and work on their creativity.”

The month acclaimed several new achievements in Bal Bhavan’s account, with many new accreditations and appraises. The school received the prestigious accreditation from the British Council as an International school for a period of 2019-2022 for integrating International Learning in its Curriculum. The award rejoiced was an outcome of year efforts and interfaces under which the school interacted and associated with schools abroad and entered into joint ventures as per certain approved action plans incorporating global dimensions to them. The keen associations and involvement of school and its associates were duly appreciated in the scheduled award function.

The school also ranked itself 5th in East Delhi Challengers in times survey. The school received due credit for the same. The school’s growth chart certainly claims a rising graph depicting its growth in the frontiers of technology and education.

Yet another achievement of the school is worth a mention, where the school is ranked 7th in Delhi and 20th in India for its exemplary contribution in the field of education by Education today. The prestigious acknowledgment eulogized the school’s everyday involvement and efforts in upgrading its systems in terms of education and comforting all possible resources for its propagation.

Christmas waves a magic wand over the world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. The much-awaited festival of Christmas was celebrated by tiny tots of KG class with fervor and zeal; they presented a special assembly “Jashn-e-Bachpan”. As the name suggests, kids reminded the parents about their childhood by beautifully presenting a skit imparting various childhood games played by them. Qawwali performance highlighting the excessive usage of mobiles, eating unhealthy food grab the attention of the audience, thus giving a message to them about the outrageous impact of mobile phones and junk food.

The program also emphasized the need for raising awareness on air pollution through a short documentary. The entire campus was festooned with colorful balls and balloons and a brightly decorated Santa with his sleigh followed by the echoing of Christmas carols. The children were filled with joy and excitement as Santa came dancing to the tune of Jingle Bells and distributed sweets to them. The spectacular performance of the kids also mesmerized the parents.

To focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and advocating for the sustainable management of soil resources, students on Class VIth presented Special Assembly on World Soil Day on 16th December 2019. The assembly was a sheer celebration explaining the richness of Indian Soil and highlighting the growing problem of soil erosion due to population expansion. The students presented beautiful dances and songs to make the audience realise how important soil and its conservation is.

5th Sh. G. C Lagan Memorial Athletic Meet

Spreading the valour of sportsman spirit, the much-awaited 5th Sh. G.C Lagan Memorial Athletic Meet-2019 organized by Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar-II on 18th November 2019 and 19th November 2019 turned out to be majestic. This two-day sports fiesta witnessed the participation of around 50 leading schools of Delhi and NCR taking lead to participate with their passionate athletes.
Inspired by the philosophy and ideology of school’s Founder Chairman Lt. Sh. G. C Lagan and the flame bearer of this dream, school’s Director Sh. B.B Gupta Ji and Principal Mr. Vividh Gupta, this event is crafted with an aim of promoting the talent of the budding athletes of the era.

5th Sh. G. C Lagan Memorial Athletic Meet

In the presence of chief guest Dr. Manjit Singh (Asst. Secretary, Physical Education, CBSE Delhi), Special Guests Mr. Sandeep Singh Maan (Indian Para Athlete), Mr. Sanjay Gahlot (Body Building and Weight Lifting Champion) along with the other pronounced dignitaries, the event commenced with a welcome dance performance. Thereafter the resonating march past with the host school’s Band Team leading the march and the participants of all 50 schools joining the chain was a glimpse worth view. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted after the hoisting of Indian National Flag by the revered hands of the chief guest and the other eminent dignitaries present in the event. The event was declared open by the Chief Guest with a balloon release.
The event consisted of several races which included 100m, 200m, 600m, 1500m and 4X100m relay races in which the budding athletes presented their chasm of energy and fervor. The excitement and thrill were worth to witness with the shouts cheering the winning athletes.

5th Sh. G. C Lagan Memorial Athletic Meet

The winners of the races were awarded medals and certificates and an overall winning trophy was presented to Modern Pubic School, Shalimar Bagh, for the excellent performance of its students during all the events, along with, Aman Bharti of Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar-2 was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2100/- upon his selection for Vijay Merchant Trophy (under-16 category, Delhi State Cricket Team). The efforts of the participants and the role of their teachers were appreciated by the Chief Guest, who also shared his experiences and motivated the students to face challenges and not give up in the face of failures. The event turned out to be a grand success with the participating schools appreciating the initiative of the school and the required arrangements made.

“Swasth Vyakti, Swasth Parivar Aur Swasth Samaj”

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Fit India Movement at a ceremony in New Delhi on the occasion of National Sports Day. He urged the people of the country to make fitness their life style. Launching the people’s movement on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyanchand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Major Dhyanchand, India’s sports icon who enthralled the world with his game and techniques. Keeping this in mind our school organized various activities for students of classes VII-X to inculcate the healthy habit of being fit both physically and mentally.

Fit India Movement

Students participated in poster making, essay writing, mass yoga, and sports quiz passionately to propagate the message in the masses. They were displayed that fitness has always been an integral part of our culture which allows us to lead a healthy and disease-free lifestyle. All the participants came up with innovative ideas. They all participated in the activities with great zeal and enthusiasm.
A Fitness Pledge was taken by both students and teachers in order to be fit. In addition to this, our Principal organized a few sports activities like jogging, yoga, badminton, volleyball, and races for teachers to make them inculcate the passion for such activities which allow them to move towards fit life and thus a fit India may emerge soon.

TWO-DAY CBSE REGIONAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION 2019-20

Enlightening the spirit of scientific valour in order to redefine the paradigms of scientific temperament, Bal Bhavan Public School hosted the two day CBSE Regional Science Exhibition 2019-20 themed, ‘Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with a thrust on Water Conservation’ for classes VI to XI on 29th November 2019 and 30th November 2019. With almost 64 schools from all over Delhi and overseas and 95 exhibits the models were presented under a variety of sub-themes.
The initiative of CBSE was intended to rejuvenate the lethargy of mundane patterns of thought so as to provide a creative platform to exceptional talents. The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Biswajit Saha (Director Training and Skill Education, CBSE, Delhi), Chief Guest for the day, who encouraged the visible farsightedness of the young scientists and appealed to innovate by keeping oneself close to their cultural roots.

TWO-DAY CBSE REGIONAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION 2019-20

While the first day was scheduled for the preliminary judgement to be made by the panel of 6 judges from various renowned universities like Delhi University, Jamia Milia Islamia University; the second day was kept for the final judgement.
Launched with the spirit of endless passion and dedication, the second day began with an enthusiastic musical performance and a mime act highlighting the need of conserving water. The closing ceremony registered the auspicious presence of Mr. J. K Yadav (Regional Officer, CBSE, Delhi), Chief Guest for the day and Ms. Shweta Singh (Joint Secretary, CBSE, Delhi), Guest of Honour, Mr. Vinod Bacheti (Chairperson of Delhi Paramedical & Management Institute), Special Guest for the day, they encouraged and motivated the scientific temperament promoted through this exhibition. In the prize distribution ceremony the best models under each category which will further compete at the National Level were awarded with the winning certificates by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour, Special Guest and the judges. The exhibition turned out to be a huge success propelling the belief in the power of imagination to trigger a revolutionary change in the fate and face of the society.
