Nursery Graduation  Ceremony At GHPS, Karol bagh

Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh organised Nursary Graduation cum Juniors' Days function on 13th of March, 2019. The prime purpose of celebrating the function was to offer the students and the parents a chance to celebrate the closing of their preschool years and the beginning of new experiences to come. The ocassion was graced with the presence of S. Paramjit Singh ji Rana, the chairman of the school and the manager S. Mohinder Singh Ji Bhullar. The themes of the function was "Saving  Environment" as well as "Oneness of all religions through universal brotherhood".

The function started with the shabad rendition by the students of primary segment followed by the mesmerising dance performance by the tiny tots on the welcome song. The Principal of the school extended her warm welcome to all the distinguished guests and the parents. She further applauded the parents' efforts, perseverance, motivation and support that contributed to the successful completion of their children's preschool.

The Chairman of the school, S. Paramjit Singh Ji Rana congratulated the students and their parents and appriciated the efforts of the school staff in nurturing the overall personality of the students. He further urged everyone to imbibe the message of universal brotherhood enshrined in Guru Granth Sahib. The Manager of the school S. Mohinder Singh ji Bhullar also appriciated the hard work shown by the tiny tots and the teachers for presenting an outstanding show.

Inter Play Schools' Show & Tell Competition Held At GHPS, Karol Bagh

Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh organized a SHOW &TELL Competition for juvenile toddlers from various play schools on 8th of February 2019 in the school premises. The occasion was graced with the presence of the chief guest  - Ms Pushpa Arora, Principal of Little Angel Play school and the guest of honour Mr. Ajay Arora, owner of La Prime Play  School. The competition was conducted with a view to develop the cognitive and creative skills of young children and comprehend a child's imagination and spontaneous ability to translate their thoughts and ideas into words.

 The competition began with the shabad rendition by the students of primary segment. In this competition the students brought a number of different objects like Cake, Doraemon, Doll, Barbie, small cars, Doctor kit etc that fascinated them and used it in an innovative way to describe it with lot of confidence, facial expression and voice modulation.

 The competition was judged by three Principals of different play schools on the parameters of Pronunciation, Confidence, Action & Props used by them.

 While announcing the achievers, the head of the school, Mrs. Jasvinder Kaur congratulated all the teachers of various play schools for putting in excellent efforts in drawing out the best from every child and hoped to have more such activities that will increase the vocabulary and speaking skills in children. The competition left the audience spell bound by the talents and abilities of the little ones.

Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh Celebrates Republic Day With Fervor

Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh celebrated the 70th Republic Day on 25th of January 2019. The celebration commenced with the rendition of school shabad which was followed by hoisting of the Tricolour by the Chief Guest S. Paramjit Singh ji Rana, other distinguished guests and the Principal of the school Mrs. Jasvinder Kaur in the midst of school fraternity singing the National Anthem accompanied by the music team.

The Chief Guest later addressed the students reiterating the sanctity of the occasion and urging them to uphold the honour and integrity diversity and uniqueness of the nation. Later, the choir group presented the patriotic song “Aao Hum Hein Sathio”. The whole school joined the choir and the song reverberated in the surroundings. It was followed by the motivational speech by a senior student. The students dispersed with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their minds.

GURU HARKRISHAN PUBLIC SCHOOL, KAROL BAGH OBSERVES MARTYRDOM DAY OF GURU TEGH BAHADUR SAHIB

Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom day is a solemn occasion to remember the glory of his sacrifice and the day was observed by Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh on 12th December, 2018. Remembering the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the students of G.H.P.S., Karol Bagh participated in the Nagar Kirtan which was started from Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib and ended at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. The students sang the holy shabads and paid homage to the divine remembrance of the guru. In the procession, the students also performed Gatka, taekwondo martial art and dumbell activities.

On the next day i.e. 13th December 2018, D.S.G.M.C. organized ‘Kirtan Samagam’- in which the students of G.H.P.S Karol Bagh participated in Shabad rendition “ Tilak Janju Rakha Prabh Tan Ka”. The observance of the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji inspired everyone to be steadfast in the path of righteousness, as guru ji preached people to be fearless. The whole atmosphere of the Gurudwara Sahib was echoed with the divine vibrations as the students performed kirtan.

It was a great divine experience for one and all.

Career Guidance Fair - 2018-19

 Career Guidance Fair - 2018-19

Career Guidance Fair is organized by DSGMC on November 2, 2018, and November 3, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall, Guduwara Rakab Ganj Sahib.
Many renowned Indian and foreign universities participated in the fair. Students of Senior Segment (CLASSES IX TO XII) from our school visited the fair.
Various career opportunities available to the students in India and abroad were discussed. Students were guided as per their potential and aptitude to pursue various courses. Pamphlets and prospectus were distributed by various universities present there. There has been a valuable addition for the students and they got to know various options available for higher education and to choose their career.
This has been an excellent platform for the students to make the right choice regarding their career so as to achieve success in life.

Anti Cracker Campaign

With an aim to spread awareness about firecrackers causing noise and air pollution and numerous health hazards to human beings and animals, students of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh launched a campaign against firecrackers in the school premises.
Students were made aware of the poor air quality in Delhi – NCR and ill-effect of crackers through PowerPoint Presentations. Special lectures were also delivered in the classes. The students at length were also the main participants. They added their perspective which indicated that they were also aware of the increase in the pollution level even days after Diwali. School Principal Mrs. Jasvinder Kaur sensitized students about the ill effects of crackers. She inspired students to celebrate a ‘Clean and green Diwali’.
The harmful effects of crackers to health and environment were brought to the forefront by the staff also with a request to all to celebrate this Diwali in an eco-friendly manner.

Students of classes VI to XII of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh went for the picnic on 30th October at Adventure Island, Rohini. It was a much-needed break for students. Enjoyment started as students boarded the bus. They sang songs, played games on their way to the picnic spot. As they reached the spot students immediately ran for taking rides of their liking. There was the number of adventurous rides which left them spellbound. In the afternoon students were served lunch followed by a magic show which was anticipated awaited by the students. Indeed it was a great day for all the students and teachers, as it strengthened the bond between the students and their teachers.

Moods and Melodies Celebrations

Moods and Melodies celebration was organized by G. H. P. S. Karol Bagh for the students of Pre-nursery and Nursery on 30th of October, 2018. The prime purpose of the function was to raise a well-rounded child by giving every child a platform to develop all round personality. The main attraction of the function was storytelling and rhyme recitation by the tiny tots. It started with the school shabad followed by a welcome song dance. In the welcome speech, the Principal of the school, Mrs Jasvinder Kaur, extended the hearty welcome to the Parents and Principals from other play schools. She further accentuated the need for parents to devote their time to develop the potential of their kids to the fullest extent. The function gave the students a platform to develop their communication skills through storytelling and rhyme recitation. In the end the Head Mistress of the school, Mrs Gobinder Kaur, offered vote of thanks to the parents, teachers, judges and everyone who contributed to make the show unforgettable.

Senior Music Team of G. H. P. S Karol Bagh Wins Laurels for the School

The students of G. H. P. S Karol Bagh added another feather to their crown by winning 3rd position in the 14th Kirtan Competition of Delhi Schools and Colleges organised at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gk part 2 which was dedicated to the sweet memory of Panth Rattan Giani Sant Singh Ji Maskeen. The competition sponsored by Dharam Singh Khurana Memorial Trust was held on 25th and 28th of October, 2018 in different stages. The team was first selected in qualifying round and then in the final round bagged 3rd position amongst 14 teams. The students won the hearts of the judges through their mesmerising performance. The students were judged by the following rubrics:

(a) Clarity of swars

(b) Accuracy of taal

(c) Devotional touch in singing

It was indeed a great honour for the students as well as for the Music teacher Dr. Anju Bhagat to receive school trophy, teacher trophy, music system for all the participants and the teacher and certificates of participation.

The students were applauded for their melodious performance.

Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh shines in Slogan Writing Competition (Hindi) as on September 04, 2018 at Kerala Education Sr. Sec. School. Riyanshu of Class XI C bagged the first position from senior boys category whereas Sourabh of Class VIII B bagged the second position from junior category at District Level Slogan Writing Competition (Hindi). It was a proud moment of our school.

Personal Hygiene Awareness Programme

A short awareness session on the importance of maintaining personal hygiene was conducted at GHPS Karol Bagh by the teachers of Nursery and the primary segment in their classes on 7th of September, 2018.

The students were sensitised about maintaining  personal hygiene for keeping good health and better personality.

Before the presentation on personal hygiene, a short quiz was conducted to check their awaness level. With the help of posters on personal hygiene, the students were explained the causes of diseases which could be prevented by washing hands with soap.  In the end, the students took a pledge to maintain personal hygiene with the following steps:

1. Washing hands before and after meals

2. Grooming their fingernails

3. Maintaining oral hygiene

4. Keeping handkerchief

5. Keeping the classroom neat and clean
