Social Science Exhibition

GHPS Karol Bagh organized a Social Science Exhibition on Saturday, 22^nd December 2018. Students from VI to IX classes presented the glimpse of Indian States. Principal Ms. Jasvinder Kaur graced the occasion and applauded the students for their efforts for nurturing the hidden talents of students and with a focus on creating more awareness of Indian States.

Workshop on “TEACHING OF BIOLOGY IN INNOVATIVE WAY”

A workshop on “TEACHING OF BIOLOGY IN INNOVATIVE WAY” was organised on Sept 29, 2018 at GHPS, Karol Bagh in which teachers from various branches of GHPS participated.  

Biology PGT & TGT from all the branches of Guru Harkrishan Public School attended the workshop.

Ms Jasvinder Kaur, Principal GHPS inaugurated the workshop with the brief introduction about the resource person and the topics of the workshop. Prof Neerja Dhankar who has a varied and rich experience in the field of education has been a resource person. She presented various innovative methods of teaching which can be incorporated to make teaching learning process a success. The knowledge about various future prospects in the field of biology was shared. To make the sessions interesting various activities were conducted during the workshop.

The workshop was concluded by the distribution of the participation certificate to all participants and vote of thanks by Principal, GHPS-Karol Bagh.

Workshop on Stream Selection Held at GHPS, Karol Bagh

In order to help the students select the appropriate stream for their bright future, the workshop on stream selection was organized by Mr. Bikramjeet Singh Kalsi (Brain Pundit) at GHPS Karol Bagh on 24^th April 2018. The students of classes IX and X participated in the workshop. The students were encouraged to go for the aptitude test which would highlight their natural abilities as well as their personality traits.

Workshop on “Effective Teaching Strategies”

A workshop on “Effective Teaching Strategies” was organised on Nov 18, 2017 at GHPS, Karol Bagh. The teachers from various branches of GHPS across Delhi participated in the workshop. 
Ms Bhawana Kapoor, Guru Harkrishan Public School-Nanak Pio, Ms Swati Gupta and Ms Satnam Kaur,Guru Harkrishan Public School-Loni Road, Ms Ruchi, Guru Harkrishan Public School-Vasant Vihar, Ms Asha Kiran, Guru Harkrishan Public School-Kalkaji, Ms Pashmeen Kaur, Guru Harkrishan Public School-India Gate, Mr Amit Parashar , Guru Harkrishan Public School-Tilak Nagar, Ms Jaskiran Kaur, Guru Harkrishan Public School-,Hemkunt Colony, Ms Savita Minocha, Guru Harkrishan Public School-Karol Bagh, Ms Lovely Madan, Guru Harkrishan Public School-Punjabi Bagh and Ms Kuljeet Kaur,Guru Harkrishan Public School-Hargovind Enclave attended the workshop.
Mrs J.K.Mehon, Principal, GHPS-Karol Bagh who is a subject expert in the field of Biology has been a resource person. Under her guidance and leadership the interactive session on various topics of Genetics, Biotechnology, Environmental issues, Reproductive Biology and diseases was conducted which offered a real insight into the subject matter. 
The resource person provided valuable inputs not only in the field of Biology but also in teaching methodologies to make teaching learning process a success. She has explained the importance of two way communication in classroom, generating interest and curiosity, eye to eye contact etc. to make learning process effective. She also suggested various strategies like customised syllabus for weak students, use of interesting teaching aids (like videos), individual attention to all students and differentiation to achieve academic excellence. 
The workshop provided excellent platform to the teachers to share their experiences and also offered them an opportunity to learn from each other too. 
All participants showed their keen desire to implement the learning of the workshop in their class teaching.

Continuous Professional Development Programme for Teachers by Helga Todd Foundation from U.K.

Under the aegis of DSGMC,in collaboration with Helga Todd Foundation from U.K. a five week in – service training programme is being continuously organized for all the teaching staff of Guru Harkrishan Public School at regular intervals since September 2014.

Workshop on Teaching Strategies in English

Mr. Pritam Ahluwalia conducted the English Workshop explaining the four skills of English Language – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing classifying them into Receptive and Productive Skills. He also talked about the Strategic Teaching by the following points :

Workshop on Breast Cancer and its Prevention

It was a wonderful initiative taken by DSGMC to sensitize about the one of the most prevailing medical threats in today’s time and that is Breast Cancer and its prevention.

The Executives at UMEED were also present to share the assistance they could provide to the poor and ailing by providing the psychological support and awareness about the treatment so that the sufferer can cope with the side effects of the disease.
