Now days, we all seem to be really busy in our lives. There are many daily routine activities to be completed and we all are so engaged in it that we hardly take out time for other things. In today’s times, stress and anxiety have become a common problem that often leads to a bigger and more serious problem called depression. 

Exercising is a natural way to loosen up and let go of stress. Sports and games are not only recommended for good mental health but also to keep fit physically. Everyone talks about how important sport and exercise is for all of us. Of course, with the rising rate of obesity, it's an undeniable. Games have psychological and social benefits along with mental, physical and emotional advantages. Games are important in maintaining a healthy mind, body and soul. Participating in sports has a positive influence in many areas. Sports and games are of great value. Games let a child grow mentally and physically. Games give us a lot of exercises in forming our body as well as mind. Good sportsmanship is the most important aspect of the game. Game not only shapes our body but gives us a sense of team work and bonding along with leadership and patience. Game is a physical activity but it increases self-esteem and mental alertness as well. Not only for children but even adults find games an integral part of their lives. Games reduce pressure and stress along with health benefits. Almost all private as well as government schools encourage their students to play games every day. Playing helps young children's brains to develop and for their language and communication skills to mature. There are many gamesmen who do well academically as well. People who play games mostly are able to manage proper weight, have efficient functioning of the heart, controlled diabetes, lower cholesterol levels, improved blood circulation, and lower hypertension and stress levels. Apart from health benefits, games also teach us character values, like honesty, teamwork and fair play. Learning to follow rules and respecting teammates and opponents is also important for all of us. There are many games like tennis, badminton, golf, boxing, skating etc. that can be really exciting. Sports can make us learn many things. Good sportsmanship teaches respect for yourself, your teammates, and your opponents, for the coaches on both sides. Sportsmanship is a style and an attitude, and it can have a positive influence on everyone around you. When we play any game in a team, we tend to fight for a common goal with a group of players and coaches which in a way teaches us on how to build teamwork and effectively communicate to solve problems. This experience is helpful when encountering problems at work or at home. We can meet new people and also make new friends who can be there for you as a support system. The primary goal of parents and coaches is to help children find the success in sport they need to make them feel valued and wanted. Any exercise increases blood flow to the brain and helps the body build more connections between nerves, leading to increased concentration, enhanced memory, stimulated creativity, and better-developed problem solving skills and games are proven to be the best way of exercising. Playing sports helps your brain grow and makes it work better. Today, the study pressure is growing more and more leading to high level of stress among students. In this scenario, getting involved in a sports or games for an hour every day can give a good break and helps to rejuvenate. One can easily combat stress and anxiety which is a growing problem among students as well as adults these days. Also, sports and games are can lead to the all-round development of a student. Students who indulge in sports activities are known to have a good overall personality. Time management and good organizational skills must be developed to achieve both athletic and academic success. Not only this but we can also improve our family bond by playing games and sports with family members, be it kids or elders. In today’s time when both the parents are working and giving enough time to the kids is difficult, indulging in outdoor sports with them even for half an hour a day can help create the required bond. But while choosing our sport, we must be careful as there can be dangerous games too which must not be taken up without prior training or guidance like bungee jumping, big wave surfing, cave diving and others. Sports and games also have good scope and professional career for the sports persons. It has ability to give sports persons their required name, fame and money. Sports personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, Sania Mirza, and Leander Paes have created history. Their lives and spirit for sports is an example for all of us. There is no need of extra effort to motivate the youths of the country. They can be easily motivated by seeing the already famous sports personalities.  Still many parents want their kids, as students, to focus only on academics as they believe that academics can only bring future to them. However, this is not true. Sports can be a good career option too. As parents and teachers, we must find out the sport in which the kid is interested and give them the required equipment and time to play. Students should not only be pressurized to study but must be told about the ways to get rid of their pressure. Sports can be one of the best alternatives when not studying. As a teacher, you must drive the students more into learning and practicing. Children learn the sense of giving by playing in a team also. Playing sports helps with stretching ability. The heart benefits the most from playing sports and there are fewer chances of malfunctioning of your heart. It also teaches positive attitude to your life if played in a healthy manner. It refreshes the mind and helps in developing a positive and fresh outlook towards life. The United Nations Sports for Development and Peace can be regarded as one of the forerunners in sports all over the world, along with the International Olympics Committee and various other sports development authorities across the globe. Thus, while sports and games are good for an individual, one need to choose the right sport and not over indulge in them. Sports are not only beneficial to young people, but also for older generations. However, it is always good to start early. Activities such as cycling, swimming, running, and even walking are some of the physical activities can be done on a daily basis. It is rightly said that we must indulge in sports and games for few hours a day in order to stay fit and active both physically and mentally. Most importantly, sportsmanship teaches us that participation is important and not winning and losing. You don’t always win in life but you must try. It Improves mood and mental health and make you grow emotionally. Participating in sports develops healthy living habits that provide physical benefits such as developing coordination, physical fitness, and strength. We can also have a better mood and coordination while playing our game.
