The cold beautiful morning of 27th Feburary, 2019 witnessed the celebration Nursery Graduation Ceremony.Nursery students participated in the programme wholeheartedly and presented unprecedented performance . The School Principal Dr [Mrs] Sukhwant Kaur,welcomed the guest gathering Mrs. Kulbinder Kaur, Ex Headmistress, GHPS Vasant Vihar and  Mrs Maninder Kaur Nagra, Headmistress, GHPS Hemkunt Colony deligthed to be a part of the programme. The principal applauded the relentless effort made by the children and teacher for presenting the spectacular show. The Vice Principal S Amardeep Singh proposed  the vote of thanks.

Indo-German Student Exchange Programme -2018

On 16th April hugely popular Indo-German Educational Trip to Germany started. Two staff member Ms. Jaswinder Kaur Bindra and Ms. Kuljeet Kaur accompanied the group of thirteen students of GHPS Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. A ten day trip proved to be a great success due to enthusiastic input from students and continuous support of Principal Dr. Sukhwant Kaur to the teachers accompanying with the students.

The Itinerary of the trip was carefully planned. In first half of the trip, students shared cultural and educational system of country with the students of partner school in Germany (Solinger) followed by the interaction with the families of host students.

The places visited with partner school were Aachen, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Wuppertal and great Ruhr    Area. The five day trip brought a long and strong bonding between the students, school as well as the countries.

Second half of the trip was visit to two more countries Luxembourg and Paris. The team visited the Parliament and Prime-Minister’s house in Luxembourg followed by visit to Eiffel-Tower (Top Level) River cruise and Disney Land in Paris. The 25th Anniversary Celebration Parade was breath taking and was more like heaven on Earth.

On the whole a good learning and fun filled trip ended on 27th April when the team landed at Delhi Airport Indeed, It was a first hand learning experience.

English Debate Competition

Inter GHPS English Debate Competition (Face to Face) was organized by GHPS Vasant Vihar on 16th May 2018 where 11 GHPS branches participated.  The topic for the contest was “Is Social Media Capturing the Creative Brilliance of Young Minds”.  The guest of honour was the school Director Col.Jasbir Singh Nirmal.  22 participants from 11 branches put forth their arguments in favour and against the motion. Winner’s trophy was bagged by GHPS Nanak Piao, followed by GHPS India Gate fetching 1st Runners Trophy & GHPS Loni Road getting 2nd Runners up trophy.  School Principal Dr.Sukhwant Kaur appreciated the students and congratulated the winners.

Language Galore Exhibition was put up by Staff & Students of GHPS Vasant Vihar on 19th May 2018 showcasing the works in all the three languages – English, Hindi & Punjabi.  Charts & Models were displayed on famous poets and authors.  It was a learning experience for all the students.  They learnt about the contribution of various poets and authors other than their subject concerned.  It was appreciated by the school Principal Dr.Sukhwant Kaur and all the parents.

Nursery Graduation Ceremony was conducted at Guru Harkrishan Public School, Vasant Vihar for the batch 2017-18 on 28th February. The ceremonial function began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty. A soulful Shabad was recited by the tiny graduates. Avtar Singh Ji Hit, Senior Member DSGMC presided over the function. Ms Supreet Kaur, Manager of the school was the Guest of Honour.

To mark the final day at the nursery, the little champs enthralled the parents, grandparents and friends with high spirited and meticulously planned a panorama of activities. The classic play ‘Pied Piper And the Mighty Rats’ was applauded by all.

The shining stars tapped their feet on various dance numbers and added charm to the spectacular morning. Hindi Musical Drama ‘Pedh Suraksha’ was enacted to highlight the need to protect trees.

Children had a great time and were proud to put on gowns and hats. Graduation Certificates  were handed over amid loud applause by the audience and the teachers.

 

In their address, S Avtar Singh Ji Hit and the School Manager Miss Supreet Kaur wished and blessed the students in their new ventures.

 

The Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Sukhwant Kaur congratulated the young graduates and their parents and gathering for their benign presence. The vote of thanks was proposed by school Headmistress Ms. Kulbinder Kaur.

 

The programme concluded with National Anthem.

Farewell - Class XII

Students of Class XI of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Vasant Vihar hosted a grand function to bid a warm farewell to the outgoing students of Class XII on 3rd February, 2018.

The programme commenced by invoking the blessings of the Almighty and a soulful shabad was recited by the senior students. It was followed by the formal welcome of the Chief Guest of the day – S. Onkar Singh Ji Thapar, Chairman of the school, Guest of Honour Ms. Supreet Kaur, Manager of the school.

Students of Class XI presented a beautiful tapestry of colourful cultural programme. The scintillating dance performances were well applauded and the vibrant and melodious medley of songs devoted to the splendid years of friendship and bond with teachers took the students down the memory lance, leaving them nostalgic.

The stage was set ablaze with a ramp walk by Class XII students, where they introduced themselves with oozing confidence. After rigorous rounds of questions by judges and modelling, the much awaited result was announced. JAPNEET KAUR was crowned as MISS GHPS, VV; JAGPAL SINGH was felicitated with the title of MR. GHPS, VV. The 1st RUNNERS UP (Boys) & (Girls) went to MR. GURLIV SINGH & MISS CHANPREET OBEROI respectively.

Students enjoyed the sumptuous lunch and tapped their feet to the DJ beats.

School Chairman – S. Onkar Singh Ji Thapar and school Manager Ms. Supreet Kaur, in their address blessed the outgoing batch and extended their good wishes for a successful and prosperous future.

School Principal Dr. Sukhwant Kaur advised the students to study with sincerity, diligence and devotion to fare well in the Board exams and be successful in all their future endeavours.

The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks by Vice Head Girl and Vice Head Boy of the school.
