Gyanodians Awarded For Designing ‘HAWA-HAWAI’ A Low Cost, Viable Air Filter

In an Inter School State level competition ‘ENVIRO – HEALTH’ organized by HCFI (Heart Care Foundation of India) three students of Gyan Mandir Public School: Lakshay Rajput of X-A , Saksham Singh and Aslan Ali of VIII B developed a low cost, viable air filter, HAWA-HAWAI and grabbed the FIRST POSITION. The air filter ‘Hawa – Hawai’ is based on automatic shut on and shut off system. This air filter can calibrate itself automatically and there is no need of any mobile phone or hands on feature to operate it. This technology was christened as ‘SMARTER THAN SMARTEST’. It basically comprises of a recycled CPU FAN which sucks in the polluted air and throws filtered air. The air filter comprises of reticulated foam which can efficiently filter contaminated air particles. The project also comprises of a low cost air monitoring kit that gives an idea of real time pollution index.
The team was awarded 1st PRIZE for excellent presentation and concept design. Dr. K .K Agrawal (President CMAAO, President HCFI), Dr. Anil (Ex Director, Environment, Government of NCT of Delhi) awarded the team a cheque of Rs.10, 000/- and winning certificates to all. The President appreciated the efficient presentation of the team. Later on the team planted two air purifying plants in Asiad Village Park.
