COACH LEHMAN’S ADVICE FOR AUSTRALIAN BATSMEN

The Australian team is heading to India in February after victoriously defeating Pakistan in the Test series at Sydney. The first Test match against India is to be held on February 23 in Pune. Coach Darren Lehman believes that they will have to play better to confront the Indian bowlers. He has asked them to be prepared to bat for long periods of time.

Australia scored seven centuries in the 3-0 Test series against Pakistan. But in India, they should be prepared to “grind it out”, he said. Lehman stated "We batted 135 overs in the first innings (in Sydney). We'll need to bat for 150 overs plus in India to post a big total”.

He also added that it will be a great challenge for the young group to bat for long periods of time. But, these fit and strong men should be able to do it. Recalling Australia’s defeat against India in the 4-0 Test series in 2013, skipper Steve Smith stated "It's obviously going to be a very difficult series.”

Vice-captain, David Warner, also warned the same. He recalled that England did well in the recent series, but India did better.
