India’s Basketball Sensation Amritpal Singh Impresses Everyone

Skipper of the Indian national team, Amritpal Singh may become the first ever India-born player to play in the National Basketball League (NBL). The professional league will involve big teams like Australia and New Zealand and will be played in Oceania region.

Amritpal impressed everyone present including the media at the NBL Draft Combine in Melbourne last week. Amritpal, along with three other Indian players- was invited by the NBL to be part of the draft line up.

The report on NBL’s official website read-“The 6’11” centre from Punjab has been the leading shot blocker among all the players. His footwork and defensive play were the talking point amongst all the coaches.”

“I was very impressed by his game play. If given the opportunity to play here in Australia and adapt to the speed of the Australian game, I think he would do a great job, said Rohan Short- a formal NBL Assistant Coach.”
