New Discovery on Corns Brings Good News for Farmers

Scientists from Iowa State University are on a research-trip and are on the verge to get better farming solutions for the cultivation of corn. According to an assistant professor of the university research will identify growth of corn beyond suitable environment.

This research can be productive for farmers to generate a good quality corn, as per the analysts. Personnel from different universities such as University of California at Davis, the University of Missouri and the National Laboratory of Genomics for Biodiversity in Irapuato have participated in the research.

Scientist Matthew Hufford stated that corn was first started in the warm lowland of southern Mexico 10,000 years ago. However, the growth mechanism of corn crops in different climate is still a mystery, said Hufford.

The researchers have stated that this study can identify the essential factors which are responsible for ecological growth of the corn crops. While elaborating the benefits of the research the scientists said that it can help the farmers who want to adapt the technique of better farming.

Now the scientists are planning to make a novo assemblies or highly comprehensive set of properly controlled gene sequences of the main-variations. A research team is going to plan a visit to highland or lowland to analyze the corn variations and genus of the crops as well.
