Eden Garden in Kolkata is likely to have some major changes as Eden Garden’s 7th stand is likely to be named after Saurav Ganguly and Jagmohan Damiya. As per the meeting of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) the historical Eden Garden will be named after Saurav Ganguly and former cricket administrator Jagmohan Dalmiya.
The meeting was held on Monday apart from these two eminent personalities other former cricketers have also marked their attendance in the meeting. The association’s committee meeting has addressed by former cricketer Pankaj Roy and former CAB Presidents B.N. Dutt, A.N. Ghosh, Snehanshu Acharya and Sidhartha Shankar Ray.
CAB Treasurer Bisvaroop Dey stated in an interview that nothing has been finalized yet.
He also added that Saourav Ganguly and Pakaj Roy’s names are anticipated by him.
However it was Late Jagmohan Dalmiya’s wish to name a stand after his own name added Bisvaroop Dey.
Another major change announced by the CAB President Saurav Ganguly was that they are planning to install a bell in the Eden Garden stadium. According to the announcement the bell will be rung in the morning by the either side player or former cricketers at the beginning of the game.
