Narrative poetry is possibly the most accessible form of poetry, making poetry more understandable by the general public. It gives students a way to tell their stories in verse form. It also gives students who enjoy writing short stories a new outlet for their fiction. The study of poetry helps students having a passion for writing poetry develop skills that are necessary to succeed both in school and in their future careers. It is a longer form of poetry that tells an entire story, with a beginning, middle and an end. Which contains all the elements of a fully developed story, including characters, plot, conflict and resolution. These poems are typically told by just one narrator or speaker.
