Pramatha Nath Bose (1855–1934)

Pramatha Nath Bose was an Indian geologist and paleontologist. He was educated at Krishnagar College and later at St. Xavier's College of the University of Calcutta. In 1874, he also obtained a Gilchrist scholarship to study in London. He is also a friend of Rabindranath Tagore. He was one of the early Indians who join the Geological Survey of India as a graded officer. His first work was on the Siwalik fossils. He also credited with the discovery of petroleum in Assam. He set up the first soap factory in India and was instrumental in Jamshedpur by writing to J. N. Tata about the rich iron ore reserves.

Dhirendra Kishore Chakravarti

Dhirendra Kishore Chakravarti was an Indian geologist and paleontologist, who worked at Banaras Hindu University in the Geological Museum .In 1934, he was the first Indian to describe a species of dinosaur, Brachypodosaurus graves (now considered dubious). In 1935, he contested the interpretation of Lametasaurus indicus as an armored dinosaur, arguing that it was a chimera. In 1982, the Geological Society of India organized a Festschrift in his honor.
