CBSE Introduces Online System of Admission
Editorials News | Oct-24-2018
Imparting quality education is one of the most important needs of India in the present day. It has been rightly said “Padhega India Tabhi to Badhega India”. If India needs to grow, education is truly a necessity for one and all.
Not just education helps in growth and development of the nation but it also helps in reforming the mentality of the general public and resultantly in reducing crime. The good part is that the government and the concerned regulatory bodies realise this importance. Lately the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced new bylaws that shall help in making the process of admission easy and flexible. The Board has made the entire process online. Alongside it has shown green signal to 8000 applications for its affiliation. Earlier the process was long and tedious and required a NOC inspection of the school but presently CBSE has done away with it. The Human Resource Development Minister (Prakash Javadekar) made these announcements on the October 18, 2018. The concerned bylaws came into being in the year 1988 and were last amended in the year 2012. CBSE has declared that the new bylaws shall only monitor and govern the academic and co-scholastic qualities of the school. These bylaws shall have nothing to do with the other aspects that have already been monitored by the respective State Governments wherein the school is situated. The bylaws shall also keep an eye upon the malpractices or corrupt practices that the school might indulge itself into. In such a case punitive action shall be taken against the school that is at fault. Alongside, the schools will also have to be transparent concerning the fee schedule. They will have to disclose from time to time the academic fees that they are charging and under which heads. Any unreasonable hike in the school fee shall attract serious action against the school. The HRD Minister has informed that only those schools shall be granted affiliation which perform appropriately. Further there shall be a two day compulsory training that shall be organised for the teachers. The Principal and the Vice Principal shall both be a part of this practice. The aim behind this measure is to increase the standard of the teaching that these schools impart. Also, innovative schools shall be introduced in the education system in order to bring about innovative ideas in the field of skill development, sports, arts and science.
