Editorials News | Jan-22-2020
As we know, every child has the equal right to have access to the education in India and every child deserve to be educated at every level of school and college and they should be treated equally without discriminating on the basis of gender, caste, religion or if they are specially able. Each and every student with special need should be enrolled in primary school. Every family must accept their child’s special need and support him in every situation so that he/she never feel inferior.
After determining the need of especially able child, he/she should be enrolled under appropriate educational setting. All the students with some disabilities can get enrolled in National Open School (NOS) for their education and to avail the benefits of education at the same level. These students should be provided with a counselling to choose appropriate career, so they could study at the higher education institutes. Sometimes, especially able children need devices for their education to run smoothly, these kinds of devices should be provided by the school to all the kids with special needs.
Our government is also working hard to eliminate the inferiority complex these people are facing in their daily life. Government have provided reservation to them in schools and colleges. These schools and colleges adopt different examination procedures. Government have provided fee concessions, reservations and policies for these students.
Many NGO’s and non-profit organizations conduct different type of seminars and workshop to spread awareness about their education and the acceptance of their presence in our society. These NGO’s and non-profit organisations also conduct workshop for the teachers to assist those children with appropriate career option for their higher education and for the employment.
Schools and Colleges should celebrate some days which are especially dedicated to them like World Disabled Day and The Cane Day, in such a way the confidence of those students will boost up and they all will have a wish to live and accept themselves as they are.
