
Eight Year Old Kashmiri Girl Wins Gold Medal In World Kick Boxing Championship

Tajamul Islam, an eight-year-old girl from Kashmir has made India proud by winning the gold medal in the sub-junior category in the World Kick Boxing Championship held in Italy. Ninety countries participated in the event. Tajamul Islam defeated her rival from the USA in the event to win the prestigious award.
She is a class II student of the Goodwill School, run by the Indian army in Bandipora, North Kashmir. She was coached by the Indian army. The little girl said "I was nervous before going to Italy but my coaches encouraged me. Then I thought about the image of Kashmir and of India and ultimately, I made it."
Earlier she had won the gold medal in the sub-junior category at the National Kickboxing Championship 2015 conducted in New Delhi. Her father Mr Ghulam Mohammad Lone says that she is a brilliant student who has earned a free ship.
The army honoured her with a cash reward of Rs.1 lakh. The CM Mehabooba Mufti and Governer NN Vohra offered her Rs.50, 000. Tajamul is now preparing to participate in the next kickboxing championship event to be held in Bihar.
