“Early Medieval India”

History is governed by a strong sense of chronology,which is to say that time needs to be divided and each epoch or period of time is named and classified differently. The focus is on the study of culture, religion, ideas and beliefs. Many historians have deeply interested in what has stood the test of time in the face of so much upheaval and change.

The study of history has long carried out into three different time periods and each phase has a different titular heading to it and described as either the Ancient, Medieval and Modern depending upon the time frame.

The period from the 18th and 19th century of Indian history witnessed many changes. During these period many societies of the sub continent stood witness to change and transformation in several regions the economy reached at the level of prosperity. In popular parlance the period is described as the “Medieval” period of the Indian History.

 

First phase of Early Medieval India :

The Beginning of the early Medieval Period is said to be characterize  by rulers and dynasties who are taking care of their own region. Gradually the things began to change and the period saw same strong ruler tried to unite the Kingdom for better governance and administration.

The Chalukya Dynasty was an Indian dynasty that ruled large part of the southern and central India between the 6th and the 12th centuries. The Earliest Dynasty known as the “Badami chalukya".
