Parents Slammed For Not Stopping Their Children’s Gaming Addictions

You already know about Fortnite, athletes, streamers – renowned games religiously played by kids, but should we be concerned about its effects on the children?

The parents of youths who haven’t gone to schools for like two years because of their gaming addictions have been slammed for their efforts to stop this problem behavior.

One of several teens, Logan Ford, profiled last night on 60 Minutes, confined to their bedrooms because of gaming addiction. If he had his way, he will play Fortnite for fourteen hours a day, said the 14-year-old. He only leaves his room for basic necessities and has alreadyrefused to go to school for two years.

The Fortnite has more than 125 million players globally and an estimated 40 million players playing monthly; and he isobsessed with this video game.   

She had been head-butted, bitten, concussed and forced to call the police when Logan turned as soon as she attempted to take his Sony PS4 gaming console, his mother Britta Hodge said. While Australians sympathize with the troubled mother and another couple after they were featured on the 60 Minutes last night.

One person posted on social media that How weak and pathetic parents are! Who’s in charge here, because they certainly aren’t! So, cut the power cord and drag the little sod to school and make him go!  The social media was flooded with parents saying video games were not the problem.

Another woman stated, you are responsible for buying them console, introducing them to video games, and allowing them to play it. Stoptrying to blame video games for your lack of parenting, you are the problem.

Another concerned mum said the console would go straight under the lawnmower as her child watched it crunch. She said. “I have an 11-year-old who plays Fortnite; he’s not permitted to play it on weeknights and has limitations for playing it two hours per weekend based on performance at school and the respect my husband and I have garnered during the week.

“When he’s told he can’t have it, he gets ticked off but THAT’S MY JOB. I’m not a ‘friend’ I’m a ‘parent’. Stop getting the two confused. In case, if my son acted like that, it wouldn’t be the fault of the cord that I’d remove; it’d result in whole machine mulched. So grow a pair.”
