Day 7 of 22nd Ramjas Basketball Champions League started on a note of high energy and enthusiasm with the boys taking on the field fully charged ‘To Do or Die’. Both the teams of DPS, Noida & Montfort School, Ashok Vihar put up a tough fight but victory blessed Montfort School, Ashok Vihar with a margin of 29 Points. The boys of the Winning School were elated after winning the Game.
The Second Game for the day saw the Junior Girls of Vasant Valley School, Vasant Kunj and Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri, fighting it out to move in to the next round. The game turned out to be very exciting with each player putting forth their best foot. Finally, Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri defeated Vasant Valley, Vasant Kunj by 14 points.
Ms. Susan, Coach, Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri expressed great joy after his girls’ wonderful performance. Nikita, Captain, Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri, said that the rival team was a tough one to play against.
As the day progressed, the third match was played between Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura and Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan in the Senior Boys Category. The boys’ height was a treat to the eyes as they reached up to the top of the basket ball pole. Each one of the boys was emanating energy and each team seemed ready to crush the opponent. The game ended with Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, winning by 23 Points. Their Coach, Mr. Umesh, expressed great pride and happiness over his team’s victory and entry in to the next round.
In the Junior Girls Category, the fourth match between The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj and D.P.S R.K.Puram, resulted in D.P.S., R.K.Puram winning by 17 Points. The Thriller of the day was the last match between Ramjas Senior Wing, Anand Parbat and D.P.S, Mathura Road. It was, indeed, the toughest and the most competitive match of the Tournament till date. Both the teams put in their hearts and souls in to the game. Each player ensured that it turns out to be a nail biting match. At the end of the day, D.P.S, Mathura Road nailed it and qualified to the second round of the Tournament.
