A Thrilling Day at RBCL

It seemed that nature was also enjoying the matches as a pleasant breeze and a cloudy sky greeted the players after the weekend. However, towards the second half scorching heat caused some discomfort but towards the end rain cooled the things once again. There were four matches scheduled for the day. Although the matches started very late but the players were as fresh as dew.

The first match was between Modern School, Barakhamba Road and Mater Dei School in the Senior Girls’ Category. The girls were brimming with enthusiasm and energy. Modern School, Barakhamba Road won the match by 23 points.

Shreyasi, Captain, Modern School, Barakhamba Road said “I am really happy. It was a team game and we played it as a team. It feels great.”

The second match was between Queen’s Valley, Dwarka and Montfort School, Ashok Vihar in the Senior Girls’ Category. This match was a delight to watch as Montfort won it by a margin of 12 points. Shrieks of joy could be heard from the winning team.

The third match for the day was played between the Senior Girls of Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and Modern School, Barakhamba Road. Both teams played on with full enthusiasm in the scorching heat .Modern School, Barakhamba Road defeated Army Public School by a margin of 7 points.

Mr.Rajesh, Coach, Modern School, Barakhamba said “This was just like a warm up match. Tomorrow we have a match with the same team.” He also shared his opinions on RBCL. He said “According to me, this is one of the best basketball tournaments in Delhi.  We feel very comfortable in your school. So many teams participate in this tournament. I really appreciate the efforts put in by the school to inculcate sportsmanship in students.”

The last match for the day was between I.T.L, Dwarka and Montfort, Ashok Vihar in the Senior Boys’ Category. Montfort, Ashok Vihar won the match by 27 points. The match ended with rain.
