AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2017: TOP PARTICPANTS CONFIRMED

All the players in the world’s top 99 have confirmed their participation in the Australian Open 2017. Two new world stars Angelique Kerber and Any Murray start as top seeds in the all-star field at Melbourne park for the opening Grand Slam, indicating the changing of the guard in world tennis.
Serena Williams returns from her injury to attempt to win her 23rd major singles title against Steffi Graf, and make a new record. She and her sister Venus Williams have signed for the Auckland Classic which would serve as a warm up for the Aussie Open which is scheduled a month later. Novak Djokovic, world number two, will be aiming on the men’s side to claim the trophy and make a record for the seventh time.
Roger Federer returns after knee rehabilitation surgery to play the Hopman Cup in Perth, and thereafter face his rival Rafael Nadal in Melbourne. Rafael is also putting in efforts to regain his fitness and kick start his year off well. The top player missing from the primary 99 is Victoria Azarenka, the two-time Australian Open Champion. She is expecting a baby by the end of this year.
