Bengaluru Defeats Pune by 3-0 in 5th Season of ISL: Highlights of the Match

The 2018–19 Indian Super League season is the fifth season of the Indian Super League. It’s one of the top professional football league played in India, started in 2013.

It features young players from India and players of international class. The tournament is going to continue till the first quarter of 2019. Bengaluru FC which was the runner-up in the 4th season moved to the top of the Indian Super League table on three goal wins as Sunil Chhetri’s agility and a single goal from the impressive Miku helped them to achieve a comfortable victory by 3-0 over struggling FC Pune City at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune. Bangalore team reached top of the table after reaching the mark of 7 points from 3 matches. Bengaluru was the favorite team right from the start as they tried to cash the opportunities by a valid goal. Captain Sunil Chhetri shot a goal in the first half of the match with an aggressive mindset which was followed by the second goal and Miku got the third goal midway through the second half. On the other hand, Pune City team produced another cheerless performance. It was their very first game at home so they were supposed to get a huge support from their fans. Pune remained on ninth place at the league table with just one point after this match. Bengaluru FC goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh has a good height which was used by him for the team advantage to great effect by restricting the dipping free-kick effort by Marcelinho, a Brazalian footballer. He was looking forward to pick the top right corner but the long man from the blue team barded him by a terrific save for his team. Both the sides have made a good amount of chance to score but it came out to be a tight game. Dimas Delgado, playing in for Pune made his delightful in-swinging corner-kick which found the blue captain Chhetri running towards center of the box but the Delgado's header was straight at the goalkeeper which was struck by Chhetri. Another good chance for Bengaluru of the first half came in the 40th minute when Udanta Singh was released down the right flank and replaced by Miku. The winger crossed perfectly for Chhetri in the center whose effort struck agonizingly wide from close range. Chhetri was star of the match who with his achievement doubled his side's lead within two minutes difference in his two goals. Pune team tried to deliver an immediate response at the other end but the local star, Rahul Bheke failed to clear a long ball and Diego Carlos pounced onto it before sending a ferocious attempt that struck the outside of the post and sailed out.
