Cameron Norrie of Great Britain Wins in Singles

Cameron Norrie of Great Britain gave a 3-1 victory in the Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan by winning his singles match against Sanjar Fayziev in Glasgow. On Friday, The British lost his opening singles match and achieved a victory by 6-2 6-2 6-0, in spite of having a match point in the third set. Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot came from behind to win their doubles match on Saturday against Istomin.

They started the day with a 2-1 lead. The only question arises here is that over he had put it behind him when he came and dropped the opening game on his serve. He then won four games in a row to take charge of the opening set, which he won when Fayziev catch a return. In the second set, he was once again pushed hard in the opening game. However, to go two sets up this time he held his serve and then broke in the fourth and eighth games. In February, the tie was set to be the World Group relegation play-off with Britain's place. Also in February, Twenty-four teams will compete for the qualifiers, which Britain are now seeded for, with the 12 winning teams advancing to the finals in November. The four semi-finalists from the last year's tournament which are participating this year are France, Spain, Croatia and the United States, also with two wildcard picks.
