Carmelo Anthony Is One Step Closer To Join Houston Rockets With One-Year Deal

Carmelo Anthony has cleared waivers and intends to sign one-year deal with Houston Rockets. The news came after reports from Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Anthony was traded on July 19 by the Oklahoma City Thunder after being waived by Atlanta Hawks. He has now entered the free-agent player pool along with James Harden, Chris Paul and Rockets.

As per various reports, the veteran forward is all set to sign the deal worth a total of $2.4 million. His season as Oklahoma averaged out to 16.2 points and had career lows during his stay at the team. In fact, Thunder were out of the game after first round of playoffs by Utah due to low average and field goal percentage. The 34-year old is a 10-time all-star who has been in the headlines throughout his career. He ranks at 19th in the history of NBA with 25,417 points. But last season was a bust as he wasn't his isolation specialist self he has always been. His time at the game was seen dwindling this entire season. Anthony chose to accept his $28 million dollars earlier this summer for which he was due next season. Grant was re-signed by the Thunder but then the reports that came out suggested that Anthony and Thunder will be parting their ways.
