Celebrate World Water Day 2020
Editorials News | Mar-14-2020
World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22 March and is basically about focusing attention on the necessity and importance of water. This year the theme that has come along with this day of World Water Day is ‘Water and Climate Change’ that has explored how water and climate changes have inextricably been linked.
As this global population has grown, so does the need and demand for water has also grown, which further depletes natural resources and also pushes for more damages in the environment in several places. Solutions also include protecting carbon sinks that are as oceans and wetlands and are adopting climate-smart agricultural techniques and are further increasing the safe reuse of wastewater.
Water is one of the most precious and vital resources and we must use it more wisely and responsibly. Without water, there is no life and we have learned this from our young age. World Water Day also motivates the crowd to have balance in all of society’s water needs and also helps in ensuring that the poorest people are not left behind.
World Water Day 2022 is running a campaign and explains statements such as:
• We cannot afford for waiting. Climate policy makers must now with time put water at the heart of action plans.
• Water can help fight the drastic climate changes and there are sustainable, affordable and scalable water and sanitation solutions present.
• Everyone individual has a role to play and in our daily lives, there are surprisingly easy steps that we all can take to address climate change.
